Summer Fling

Hey Hey Hey!! I can’t wait to fill you in on some exciting summer plans that have recently blossomed. As the gorgeous weather approaches mini skirt season is in full bloom ladies!! I just want to keep you all posted as to what’s going on with my website. As you all know, is up and running!! I recently added new skirts for the summer 2012. Be sure to check it out and place your summer mini order! I’m pleased to say I’ve had a lot of orders recently both in & out of state, which is really self-satisfying. Thank you everyone for your support! I know I say it a lot, but it truly means a lot to have such a great support group with my family, friends and new fellow mini buyers. As always, I’d like to continue to boost my sales on my site so feel free to pass it on to all your friends and everyone you know. I would like to keep the exposure going. It would be my pleasure and honor to be in your closet. Thank you ☺ Keep your eyes open for another Mini’s By Mary Skirt Garden Party sometime in June. The date and time will soon be announced. Also I am now booking into June so set up your very own Minis by Mary Garden Party at your house or apartment. Email me at so that we can set up your party date. Some recently new projects: I was asked by Oneonta State College to design their cheerleading skirts for the Staillionettes. It was a whole different ballpark compared to the design of my mini skirts. But of course, I was so excited at this new opportunity that I said YESSS!! I was so excited and I’m thrilled that they even thought I was capable of doing it. So from that, I have sent them a few sample skirts and they just placed their order. Their first game is June 2nd on Hartwick’s College Wright Stadium. Cannot wait to see the final product of the girls wearing their skirts all together!! Go Staillionettes!! We also just had our first Ad in a magazine a couple of weeks ago. Vitality The Magazine is a new magazine based out of Syracuse NY. Vitality The Magazine provides a platform for aspiring artists in fashion, music, art, and literature by enabling them to publish, promote, and sell their work. They just had their first issue this month and it was amazing!!! Great articles and great fashion were featured. Check them out at I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! I'll be in touch :) Love, Mary

Mini Season has Arrived

Hello Again!
Wowzers has it been a crazy few weeks! Between College hopping, mini party hopping, photo shoots, shopping and designing we have been all over the map!
On March 7th & 8th, I had a mini set up at Union College in Schenectady NY. We had the skirts displayed in their student union from 9am to 4pm both days. We talked with students about fashion and heard what they had to say about my skirts. It was a great event and hopefully we gained a lot of new exposure. On March 10th I attended Oneonta State College with my mini skirts. Thanks to my college roommate, Kara and all her help (shout out to my girl kar lol) I was able to bring racks and tables of mini skirts and have my own venue at their Annual Student Fashion Show. Once again it was a blast and we both had fun chatting it up with girls who also have a “passion for fashion”. I want to thank both Union College and Oneonta State for welcoming “Mary Carroll” skirts onto their campuses!
This past Sunday I went to a fabric mill in Massachusetts! They had fabric wall to wall! All different types, colors, prints, textures…I didn’t know where to look first! But after making about 50 laps around the place and spending a few hours checking everything out, I selected a bunch of new funky prints! Lets just say theres alot of work ahead of us ☺
This week I had a mini skirt party at my girlfriend Michelles’ house. Her mother designs her own jewelry so we combined the two for a mini/jewelry party. Check out her facebook page: Beadutiful (Jewelry)
Last night I had an amazing photo shoot with Kevin DeMassio Photography. It was a last minute shoot but after getting everything organized it turned out amazingggg. Our timing was perfect --we actually caught the sun set and got some beautiful natural backgrounds. Courtney Vogel helped out with the hair and makeup and the girls looked gorgeous! Thank you Courtney ☺ Also, the two models did a great job! Being in front of the camera at first is very nerve racking because you just don’t know what to do. You try and act yourself but it’s hard when there’s a camera directly in front of you lol. After the models got warmed up they did a great job !! Thank you girls and thank you Kevin!
On March 29th we will be at Plush Salon in Scotia NY for a “Girls Night Out Event”. There will be about 17 different vendors coming together to celebrate being femmie and girlie! They range from hair supplies, jewelry, food, skirts make up, etc. Feel free to stop by and check it out ☺
Lastly, I believe the first week in April I have a small article appearing in the University at Buffalo “Great Grads” section. I’m not 100% sure on the details but I will let you know. Its something very small but still very exciting ☺
Please stay tuned for a lot of new updates will be appearing on the website soon! Ladies, tis the season to wear those Fun, Funky & Fashionable mini skirts you have in your closet so Enjoy! And if you don’t have one yet… Well Good News! I know this great website you can shop at . Happy Spring!

The next mini thing

Hello Friends!!
My new addition to the line is completed!!! Finally!!! Get ready ladiesss!!!! WRAP AROUND MINI SKIRTS! WRAP AROUND MINI SKIRTS! WRAP AROUND MINI SKIRTS☺ They are to die for!! I officially have a triple in my line: A-line, Hip Hugger, and WRAP SKIRTS! They are all different looks but yet still quite similar. The wrap skirts are designed to fit everyone!! They come in three different sizes, Small, Medium, and Large. These too, are made with a variety of different prints! They will be available in cotton fabrics – solids/prints.As well as sheer fabrics - solids/prints for a bathing suit cover up! Depending on the fabric, they are priced between $20 - $25. They are your typical fabulous wrap around skirt that wraps around the lower portion of your body and ties on the side to fit your comfort! I would say the most appealing aspect of the wrap around skirt is its comfort (obvy) and how it fits different body types! We all have different shapes to our body and its important that every girl can embrace their hot bod in a mini skirt, and the wrap skirt does just that! Girls you can wear these with flats, flip flops, wedges, heels or barefoot on the beach! Wrap around skirts are known to be very versatile! I had to test the first one out and let me tell is very fun to dance in! You just have to be careful the wind doesn’t catch it lol!! There is a sample picture below as well as on my facebook page but more pictures will be coming soon after the photo shoot next weekend! Please give me your feedback! I would love to hear what you think about the fancy new wrap skirts ☺ Ahh!!!!

Head Scarves

It’s just me again, wanting to keep you informed on the latest development. I just added a small accessory to the mini skirts. I completed several head scarves tonight and I wanted to share them with you! Head Scarves are the perfect accessory ☺ They are great to throw on when you need to spice up your outfit a bit, they are great to make a look more casual or formal (depending on what you want) and they are a great way to pull your look together as one piece. I know I call them head scarves because that is the main function for them but you can also wear these “Head Scarves” as a belt, as a scarf around your neck, or tie it on to your handbag as a pretty bow. It all depends on what YOU prefer. They too are very versatile and can be worn with practically anything. As you may know, bright pastels are what’s hot this summer so I have a few vibrant head scarves coming your way! The Head Scarves are being sold for $8.00 each or two for $14.00. Grab a few and add them to your spring/summer wardrobe :)
Love Ya,

Here we go Mary

Happy New Year Friends! Along with a New Year comes new things! I have been brainstorming for a while now what I truly want next for the Mary Carroll line. I have been up, down, in and out debating what the next hit should be. Like I previously mentioned on my blog, I know I want the "Mary Carroll" trademark to be Mini Skirts but I don't want to be limited to only Mini's. I want to branch out, and expand the line. Well ladies, I am currently modifying what I created and let me tell you.... Its smashing!! I still don't want to reveal what "it is" but soon enough I will. Please hang in there because it will be worth it. Trust me ;) Along with creating a new line other exciting things are happening.
Last night I met with the number #1 fashion blogger in the Capital Region, Fatima. Fatima is a Freelance fashion stylist and Image Consultant. She just released her own lip gloss line, which is Awesome! Be sure to check out her blog at where you can see all of her latest happenings. She's just as fabulous as one can imagine and had helpful advice to offer. She will be featuring me on her blog soon so be sure to follow her :)
In addition, a co-worker of mine, Erika Santos, has her own side business as well. Its called Beauty on a Budget. Erika has a weekly show that promotes different ways and techniques to feel and look beautiful without breaking your bank. She just wrapped up her 3rd successful season of Beauty on a Budget and I'm looking forward to what Erika has next up her sleeve. Her website is Be sure to check it out ladies!! Whoop whoop!
Also, I'm on the prowl for new fabrics for the spring/summer line. Depending on how things go, I want to have a party/fashion show for the spring/summer line. I'm thinking end of May but we shall see. Now I have had alot of people asking me about my website and girls, trust me, I am just as anxious (if not more) than you are! My web designer, HeeHyeon Park and I have been working soo soo hard on it that I just want to show the entire world but it just isn't quite finished yet. I'm really hoping within the next couple of days I can release it.
Until next time, Ta Ta, toodles, adios amigos, and get ready for take off because HERE WE GOOOOO!!!
Love ya,

The Latest

Hey Girls,
This past week a few exciting things have happened! Just recently, a girl from Marist College, Dayna, contacted me and asked to write an article about my minis on her blog. Her blog is where she writes about all different fashion trends, styles and other things that pertain to the fashion world. She also writes for her Marist Newspaper about Beauty and Fashion, as well as The Look of the Week. Be sure to check out her blog at She has a great sense of fashion and writes to perfection. I’ll be sure to keep you posted through my facebook page about when the article is done. I’m very excited for it!
Yesterday I met with a sewing contractor who is going to be helping me produce my minis. Him and his wife own the factory and are the nicest people ever! They will be my major source of production and then my mom and I will continue to sew in the basement sweatshop with smaller orders. This way, we can start spending more time on the creative side of it and focus more on marketing the Minis!
Starting today I will be contacting every boutique I possibly can to try and get my minis in their store! I’m really trying to expand from a small business to gradually a medium size then hopefully one day a large size company! If anyone has any boutiques they think would be a hit for me just give me a holler.
I’m also trying to get photo shoots lined up so hopefully soon I will have new pictures to show you girls!
Okay well I'll keep you posted as new things pop up! Have an amazing day ☺
